The Indelible Cooking Show
My name is Brent Emmerson, Owner of The Indelible Cooking Show. I share recipes that are easy to prepare and most importantly, delicious. I share all my secrets, kitchen tips, organizational ideas, meal prep hacks, and how to do all of this on a budget.
I come from a European family and I grew up cooking with my mom. I remember when I was little, one of my favorite parts of helping her was licking out all the dessert bowls. I mean come on, who doesn’t enjoy that part? Coming from a European household there was constant cooking going on in our kitchen. From homemade perogies to cabbage rolls, to any type of weird-sounding salad name you can think of.
The Restaurant Business
Fast forwarding 10 years, we decided it was an amazing idea to buy our own family restaurant. With our family’s passion for cooking, we jumped on that train as fast as we could. We packed up all of our household belongings and moved from the big city of London to a small town out in who knows where. The first year was tough, learning how to manage the building, the financials, the meal planning, and the renovations on the restaurant. It was a challenge but after a while, we got the hang of it and did quite well if I’m being honest. Fast forward another 6 years, our passion for cooking was still going strong but unfortunately, the world had different ideas. Covid 19. That’s all I have to say about that one.
We decided it was best to sell the restaurant and move on with our lives. It was a good run. There was something very positive about that situation though. Moving from that small town, I managed to find the woman of my dreams. The woman I am now thankful to call my fiance. She was also able to bring me one of the greatest joys in my life. Our beautiful daughter.
Knowing this, I knew I had to find a way to spend most of my time by their side. Ever since opening the restaurant, I knew I wasn’t a huge fan of working for someone else. So, I decided to make a bold move, and quit my temporary job to start my very own cleaning business. This has allowed me to work when I want, where I want, and decide how many how I want to be away from home, which believe me, isn’t a lot.
The cleaning business has made me feel amazing. Not because of the money. Sure while it is nice to earn an above-average income, at the end of the day, my second biggest joy in life next my daughter is helping people in the best way I can. I love to clean and I love to cook! So, here I am!
